Terms of Service — GuroHero

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GuroHero ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use this Service. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" basis without any warranties of any kind.

2. Description of Service

GuroHero is an AI-powered education platform for educators. The Service is independently developed and operated by a freelance developer based in the Philippines — it is not owned or operated by a registered company or corporation. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this document refer to the individual developer operating GuroHero.

The Service provides 10 tools to help teachers: Lesson Plan Generator, Quiz Maker, Rubric Creator, Writing Feedback, Progress Comments, Differentiated Worksheets, Personalized Learning Paths, Meeting Note Taker, Presentation Maker, and Class Programming (automated scheduling). Nine of these tools are powered by Google Gemini AI. The Class Programming tool is a standalone, rule-based scheduling engine that operates entirely in the browser without AI.

3. Use License

Permission is granted to use GuroHero for personal and professional educational purposes. Under this license, you may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Remove any copyright or proprietary notations
Sell, transfer, or commercially redistribute GuroHero materials
Use the Service to generate content that violates laws or regulations
Access the Service by any means other than publicly supported interfaces
Use automated tools to scrape data or bypass access controls

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important — AI Content Notice:

All lesson plans, assessments, and educational materials generated by our AI system are drafts that require review and verification by qualified educators before use. The AI may make errors, omit information, or provide incomplete content.

Teachers and educational leaders are fully responsible for ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of all materials before using them with students.

5. Google Gemini AI — Third-Party Processing

Your Data and Google Gemini AI:

When you use GuroHero's AI tools, your input is sent to Google's Gemini AI API for processing. This means your lesson specifications, subject, grade level, curriculum preferences, and custom instructions are transmitted to Google's servers. Google processes this data according to their API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Do NOT input student personal information (names, IDs, grades, or any personally identifiable information) into any GuroHero tool.

6. Your Content & Ownership

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all lesson plans, assessments, and educational materials you create or generate using GuroHero. We claim no rights to content you generate. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content to provide the Service.

Generated Content Ownership

AI-generated content is provided for use in educational settings. You are responsible for:

Reviewing all AI-generated content for accuracy and appropriateness
Adapting content to suit your specific classroom and student needs
Ensuring content complies with your school's policies and curriculum standards
Verifying that all resources and references provided are valid
Not using generated content that violates laws or intellectual property rights

Educational Framework Attribution

GuroHero generates content aligned with various educational frameworks including the DepEd MATATAG Curriculum (K-10, 2024 revision), Understanding by Design (UbD), Madeline Hunter model, and others. We do not claim ownership of any curriculum standards or frameworks. References are for educational alignment purposes only.

Class Programming (Non-AI Tool)

The Class Programming tool generates class schedules using a deterministic, rule-based algorithm — no AI is involved. Schedule data (teacher names, sections, subjects, time preferences) is processed entirely in your browser and stored in localStorage. No Class Programming data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. You are responsible for the accuracy of the scheduling inputs you provide.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information
Keep your login credentials confidential
Take responsibility for all activities under your account
Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, including the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012
Not use the Service to create harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
Review all AI-generated content before using it in educational settings
Anonymize all student data before using the Writing Feedback tool or any other tool

8. Student Data & Anonymization

Student Data Anonymization Requirement:

When using GuroHero's Writing Feedback tool or any other tool that accepts student work, educators must anonymize all student data before submission. Remove all student names, IDs, and personally identifiable information.

GuroHero is not responsible for any student personal information submitted by educators. You are solely responsible for compliance with the Philippine DPA 2012 and your school's data governance policies regarding student data.

9. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Users must not use the Service to:

Create, distribute, or promote illegal, offensive, or discriminatory content
Generate content for commercial resale without explicit permission
Violate intellectual property rights of third parties
Interfere with the normal operation of the Service
Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Create content that violates educational standards or student safety guidelines
Input student personal information or sensitive personal data

10. Limitations of Liability

In no event shall GuroHero be liable for any damages (including damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the Service, even if notified of the possibility of such damage.

You acknowledge that:

AI may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content
Not all suggestions or generated materials are suitable for every classroom
Teachers retain full responsibility for classroom instruction and materials
The Service is intended to assist, not replace, teacher judgment and expertise
Curriculum compliance is the responsibility of the user

11. Account Termination

GuroHero reserves the right to:

Suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms
Delete your data after account termination (retained in backups for 30 days)
Refuse service to any user at our sole discretion
Modify or discontinue the Service at any time

12. Service Modifications

GuroHero reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GuroHero and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from:

Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any law or third-party right
Content you create or generate using the Service
Your failure to anonymize student data

15. Subscription Plans & Billing

A. Available Plans

GuroHero offers the following access tiers:

Free Plan: 60 AI generations per calendar month, reset on the 1st of each month. No payment required.
Monthly Unlimited: Unlimited AI generations for USD $1.00 per month.
Annual Unlimited: Unlimited AI generations for USD $10.00 per year.
Custom AI Hub (Institutional): Tailored AI platform for schools, districts, or organizations. Pricing and scope determined on a case-by-case basis.

B. How Subscriptions Work

GuroHero does not process payments automatically. There is no payment gateway, billing portal, or automatic charge integrated into the Service. Subscriptions are arranged as follows:

You select a plan and send a formal email request to info@gurohero.online stating your chosen plan, full name, and registered email address.
Payment instructions will be provided by the administrator upon receiving your request.
After payment confirmation, the administrator will manually activate your plan in the system.
You will receive an email confirming activation.

No credit card or financial information is collected by GuroHero's platform at any time.

C. No Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions do not renew automatically. You will not be charged without your explicit request. When a paid plan period ends, your account reverts to the Free Plan (60 generations/month) unless you request renewal.

D. Refund Policy

Because plan activation is manual and subject to direct agreement, refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact info@gurohero.online within 7 days of activation if you have concerns. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes fairly.

E. Plan Modifications & Pricing

GuroHero reserves the right to change subscription pricing or plan features with reasonable notice. Existing paid subscribers will be notified via email before any price change takes effect for their plan period.

F. Generation Limits

Free plan generation counts reset on the 1st day of each calendar month. Unused generations do not carry over. Paid unlimited plans do not have generation caps during the active subscription period.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid under applicable law, such provision shall be deleted without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.

17. Changes to Terms

GuroHero reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last Updated" date when Terms are modified. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
